19-09-29 - Italian souvenirs. My mother left me the Italian jug on the left. A tourist souvenir or import probably, from prewar days. I recall seeing it in Danville. The bottom markings refer to Pisa. She had never been to Italy until our family trip from Germany in the 1950s. Exactly how that jug came into the family is a mystery. The one on the right, also Italian, came from Merle's mother. Probably brought back from their Italian trip in the 1950s.

I've gotten to love those Italian yellows and ochres.
