14-02-04 - The Biking Vikings discuss stragedy.
That inverted beer bottle houses a drink called Desperado or Bandito?
Something picaresque. Tom Jones-y. (The Fielding lit'ry hero, not the pop
idol.)
D305-039
14-02-04 - I'll have another one of those, please.
Or maybe two.
D305-041
14-02-04 - Contemplation
Suffused by the ruddy glow of hung-over seasonal lighting. And rescued from
underexposure, oversaturation and graininess only by the last-ditch magic of
PhotoShop.

14-02-14 - DR, right at home in the Roman Empire
I've often thought that the story of Rome marks the first point in history
that seems "modern" by modern standards. Many of the familiar features of our
own time become visible. Massive administration and indusry. Real politics with
battling democrats and oligarchs. Urban congestion, big-city streetlife.
Everything prior seems archaic, parochial.
